Hey Tom,
Cool song. The heart wrenching, soul shaking responsibilities of fatherhood can inspire the desire for the lyrics in this song. Many times, in adult life, it would be nice if we could be rescued by our father's like when we were kids. I know the feeling and temptation to just not want to grow up. But then I am inspired to be the father who comes in a makes a difference and takes on the responsibilities, and is the behind the scenes, all too often thankless, champion for my kids. (amazingly like God is for me.) You were Buster's champion when you kept him accountable and showed him understanding and grace.
