Just gor back from Ken Klostermans house. We took a nice long walk in the chill of a beautiful fall evening. I smoked a decent cigar and enjoyed our conversation. When we got back we played with some neat toys in the Salon de Magie. He showed me a neat set of cups. Paul Fox in Brass, hallmarked (means it was made by Busby in the late 1970's or 80's. I really like Ken a lot. I don't think I mentioned it, but the Dean's Box I am using is Kens'. He said Keep it as long as I like. I would like to play with it a bit more.

The stores are failing miserably. Times are tough and the world has just become a different place. I am excited about the prospect of focusing more of my attention to booking some gigs! I have been making a few phone calls and sending a few promotional brochures. Selling myself more to the customers that walk into the store. Thinking more about how to increase my income. . . or at a minumum, keeping it the same. I am feeling confident that I am up to the task. My chops are ON. My play is good. Womp bamp pa lula

I've spent the last week playing around with Dean's Box. A newer effect from the creative mind of Dean Dill.
For some reason people seem to like it. It is a good trick. Not my favorite, but at least I can say I'm working on sometine new. It is a simple 3 phase routine centered around a nicely made wooden box. A lid in the front opens towards the audience. A smaller hole in the top, and two spandex curtains on the side the you can stick your hands into. Two ropes are introduced, The centers of the ropes are inserted in the box on either side and the magically link together. They are removed and the trick is repeated, under TEST conditions is happens again. As an after thought, one of the ropes is threaded through the box, the lid open so that you can see the rope. A ring is introduced and is caused to visually link on to the rope. Everything is examined. I think I am ready to shoot the trick and post the clip. A'int we high tech. . Bubbah.
